Sheds, Log Stores, Summerhouses customer reviews
Sheds, Log Stores and Summerhouses - FAQs
How often should I treat my shed?
Your shed may be delivered to you pre-treated, but after this we recommend treating your shed with preserver once every year.
Does my shed come pre-treated?
Stewart Timber sheds come un-treated to give you full customisable control, with preservers, stains and paints – which we also offer. However, we recommend treating your Stewart Timber shed with a preserver to ensure that your shed is protected against the elements, water damage and wood rot.
What is “tongue and groove”?
Tongue and groove cladding is a shed style where the timber panels interlock. This interlock style not only looks great, but helps to prevent your shed from being water damanged and wood rot.
What is the difference between a pent shed and apex shed?
The difference between an apex and pent shed lies with the roof. An apex shed features a roof with two sloping sides that meet at a high point, or apex, in the middle. Whereas a pent shed has a flat roof or a single slope with a softer gradient.
Do you take away my old shed?
Sorry no, we do not take away or remove old sheds – this is something you will need to organise yourself.
Do I have to purchase shed windows separately?
Our Pent, Apex and Potting sheds and Timber Workshops all come with a pre-designed window space that is fitted with a perspex pane. We do offer alternative shed windows that you can purchase seperately, and equally sell individual perspex panes for those that need replaced.
How long does installation take?
Installation can take between 1 to 4 hours depending on the size of your shed.
Will the shed be delivered to my garden?
Yes, our team will deliver and install your new shed in your garden
Do I need planning permission for my shed?
No, you do not require planning permission for installing a shed into your back garden. However, if you have doubts contact your local council or housing/letting agent to confirm this.
What preparation do I need to do before my shed arrives?
You should have a flat level base prepared for your shed, and your chosen space should be clear.
What size and type of base do I need for my shed?
Your base should be the same size as your shed and can be either slabs or concrete. We can also supply and fit a timber frame base for your shed. Please see our information and warranty sheet for more details.
What size of shed should I get?
We cannot advise you on what specific size of shed to get, this is something that depends on your needs and the space that you have available. However, you can contact us on 01236 727776 and we can try advise you on what size shed we feel is best for you and your garden.
